The information contained in this site pays special attention to the advantages that would flow to the United States and to Guyana if Guyana were to become a state or territory of the United States; and to the positive influence that American Statehood or territoriality would have on the development of Guyana in the areas of culture, technology, science, scientific discovery, education, economics, sports, religion, the environment, the protection of natural resources and the rain forest; and to the overall improvement of the quality of life of all the people of Guyana and the United States.

This web page is not affiliated with any political party. In fact, the relationship between Guyana and the United States has grown under the influence of a number of different political parties during the last three decades.
Guyana is located on the northeastern corner of South America. The capital city is Georgetown.

The Committee for an American Guyana is dedicated to educating all Americans and Guyanese about Guyana and why an American Guyanan is in the best interests of all the people of the United States and the relatively small number of people remaining in Guyana.

A referendum must be held in Guyana as soon as possible to permit the people of Guyana to voice their opinion on an American Guyana.

When the American and Guyanese people understand the shortcomings of the so-called "independent" status of Guyana, they will overwhelmingly support the incorporation of Guyana into the United States, either as an American statehood, commonwealth, or territory.

Then the U.S. Congress can establish a framework for statehood, commonwealth or other alternatives, with a specific timetable for action, that Congress will agree to implement once the Guyanese people have voted for incorporation into the United States of America.

We believe that the United States will benefit by the addition of Guyana, roughly the size of Great Britain, to its territory and the people of Guyana would benefit by becoming American citizens!

We have the enthusiastic support of teachers, students, religious organizations, sports associations, community organizations, community leaders, elected officials, jurists, artists, writers, musicians, entertainers, shopkeepers, small business owners, newspapers, Web sites, radio shows, and thousands of individual Americans and Guyanese who strongly believe that US Statehood for Guyana is a dream that must come true. ...........Welcome to GuyanaUSA!
